Terms of Service
Last updated: January 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the TLDM application ("the App"), operated by Leyton, Belgium. By using TLDM, you agree to these Terms.
1. Description of Service
TLDM is a meeting transcription and summarization app for iOS. It records audio locally on your device, transcribes it using OpenAI's Whisper API, and generates summaries using OpenAI's GPT-4o-mini — all via your own API key.
2. API Key Usage
- Free tier users do not need an API key — transcription is handled by our server within the free tier limits.
- Lifetime plan users must provide their own OpenAI API key (Bring Your Own Key / BYOK).
- Lifetime users are solely responsible for all costs incurred through their OpenAI API key.
- Your API key is stored locally on your device and never sent to our servers.
- You are responsible for securing your API key and complying with OpenAI's terms of use.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use TLDM for any unlawful purpose or to record conversations without proper consent as required by applicable law.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' data.
- Use the App to harass, abuse, or harm others.
- Redistribute, sublicense, or resell the App or its features.
Recording consent: You are solely responsible for obtaining all necessary consents before recording any meeting or conversation. Laws regarding recording vary by jurisdiction — it is your responsibility to comply.
4. Pricing & Payments
Free Tier
The free tier includes 3 meetings per month, each up to 15 minutes. No API key setup is required — transcription is handled by our server.
Lifetime (BYOK)
The Lifetime plan is a one-time purchase of $79 and requires your own OpenAI API key. This gives you unlimited access to all features forever. You are responsible for any API costs incurred through your OpenAI account.
Purchases are managed through Apple's App Store and processed by RevenueCat. Payment is governed by Apple's terms and your App Store account settings. We do not directly handle payment information. Refunds are subject to Apple's refund policies.
5. Intellectual Property
- The TLDM app, its design, code, and branding are the intellectual property of Leyton.
- Your recordings, transcriptions, and summaries remain your property. We claim no ownership over your content.
- You grant us no license to your content — it stays on your device (or your optional encrypted cloud sync).
6. Disclaimer & Limitation of Liability
- TLDM is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
- We do not guarantee the accuracy of transcriptions or summaries — these are generated by third-party AI models.
- We are not liable for any costs incurred through your OpenAI API key usage.
- We are not liable for data loss on your device. We recommend maintaining backups.
- To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the 12 months preceding any claim.
7. Privacy
Your privacy is fundamental to TLDM. Please review our Privacy Policy for details on how we handle your data.
8. Termination
- You may stop using TLDM at any time by deleting your account and uninstalling the App.
- We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
- Upon termination, your cloud-synced data will be deleted within 30 days. Local data remains on your device until you delete it.
9. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance. We will notify you of material changes through the App.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Belgium. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Belgium. If you are in the European Economic Area, you retain all rights granted by applicable EU consumer protection laws.
